How to install the PoultrySmartPRO Automatic Coop Door system.

So you've just taken your first step to a simpler poultry keeping experience... now how do you fit it? Well here we will walk you through all the steps!

 

Firstly of course, get the box open. Have a look at all the bits and pieces. You should have:

  • The door itself
  • The solar panel / control panel
  • Charging cable
  • Remote
  • Solar panel ground stand
  • Screws

The steps may vary slightly - depending on the style of coop you have.

 

Right so tools you will need are as follows;

  • Multitool, jigsaw or grinder depending on what material your coop is made of.
  • Tape Measure
  • Pencil
  • Spirit Level

Heres the steps!..

 

 

Step 1: Mark the Door Opening

    1.    Hold the automatic door unit against the desired location on your chicken coop wall.


    2.    Use a pencil or marker to trace around the internal opening of the door.

    3.    Confirm the measurements with a tape measure.

    4.    Use a spirit level to ensure your outline is both plumb and level.

Step 2: Cut Out the Opening

    1.    Choose a cutting tool based on your coop’s material:

    •    Multi-tool or jigsaw for wooden coops.

    •    Angle grinder for metal or composite coops.

    2.    Cut carefully along the marked outline.

Step 3: Fit the Door Into the Opening

    1.    Test-fit the door inside the opening to ensure it fits properly.

    2.    Choose a mounting style:

    •    With the screw-hole flanges flush inside the wall.

    •    Or with the flanges resting on the outside of the coop wall.

Step 4: Secure the Door

    1.    Hold the door steady and align it in the cutout.

    2.    Use the included screws to fasten the door securely to the coop.

    3.    Make sure the door is level and tight all around.


 

Thats it! 

 

Now either attach the solar panel ground spike or put the solar panel on the coop roof to recieve a good amount of sun.
